Hugh Jackman’s Daughter Bonds With Mom After Actor Confirms Romance

Hugh Jackman’s estranged wife Deborra-Lee Furness appears to be focused on family as she continues navigating a new chapter of her life.

Nearly a week after the Tony-winning actor debuted his new relationship with Sutton Foster, Furness, 69, decided to enjoy a day at the Australian Open with her and Jackman’s 19-year-old daughter, Ava.

The mother-daughter duo stepped out on Tuesday, January 14, to watch an exciting match between Daniil Medvedev and Kasidit Samrej at Melbourne Park in Australia.

Furness wore a bright purple jacket with blue tinted sunglasses as she cheered on her favorite players. As for Ava, she was spotted enjoying the game before briefly resting her head on her mom’s shoulders.

Jackman, 56, and Furness announced their split in September 2023 after 27 years of marriage. At the time, the couple — who also share 23-year-old son Oscar — asked for privacy as their family “navigates this transition.”

“We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” the pair said in a joint statement. “Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth. Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness.”

Sources exclusively told Us Weekly in November 2024 that a romance between Jackman and Foster, 49, sparked while the twosome started working together on the Broadway production of The Music Man the year prior.

The pair didn’t confirm their romance, however, until earlier this month, when they were photographed holding hands after enjoying a dinner date in Santa Monica, California on January 6.

Days later, the PDA continued when the couple was photographed in a car while in the drive-thru at a local In-N-Out burger location.

According to the Daily Mail, the pair shared several kisses as they sat in the front seat of the vehicle. Jackman was on the driver’s side while Foster sat in the passenger’s seat.

“They’re happier than ever,” a source told Us Weekly in November 2024 before shining a light on what the pair admires about each other.

According to the insider, Jackman adores Foster’s “immense talent, infectious positivity and grounded nature” as she continues her West Coast run of Once Upon a Mattress. As for Foster, she is drawn to her new beau’s “kindness, professionalism and ability to make others feel valued.”
