Shocking footage filmed from inside the ultralight aircraft shows Xavi attempting a manoeuvre before the engine suddenly stalls midair.
Panic quickly sets in as Xavi desperately tries to pull up as the plane hurtles towards the grounds.
As the camera cuts the aircraft plummets into the ground.
Xavi said the plane “fell like a stone”.
The incident took place at the Viladamat aerodrome in Girona in October of last year.
Miraculously, both Xavi and Alba were able to be rescued and rushed to hospital.
The 150ft fall left the pair fighting for their lives when doctors first saw them.
Pictures show how Xavi’s face was left severely wounded with two black eyes and a number of nasty wounds.
He also fractured his skull – leaving him with a loss of mobility in part of his face.
Both are believed to have broken their vertebrae in the terrifying crash as well as shattering a number of other bones.
The couple have spent the last few months undergoing gruelling rehab to help them recover from the serious accident.
They have both been forced to use a wheelchair due to their back injuries and are only just starting to learn to walk again.
The pair decided between them to share the harrowing video as a reminder to others about the dangers of flying.
Xavi says they hope it will prevent future accidents for other people as he vowed to never fly again.
He captioned the video to his followers: “The video of the accident that has changed our lives.
“They tell us that ultralight aviation is very safe and from experience I categorically affirm that it is not.
“It is a beautiful world that I would reserve for commercial and private pilots with many hours of flight and experience.”
Xavi said he had practised the manoeuvre seen in the clip “hundreds of times” but had never experienced such a “violent” stall before.

“I don’t know if it was due to a downdraft, a thermal, a sudden change in wind since we had very smooth wind… I don’t know,” he added.
“What I do know is that I will never fly again, even though I have my pilot’s license.
“This video also serves to silence the mouths that have no idea about aviation and write invented atrocities about the accident.
“God protect you as he protected us.”
The wealthy businessman is originally from Andorra but has lived in Spain in recent years as he built up a following online.
He used to be known as Ferrariman on social media prior to the crash and would often show off Alba and their luxury lifestyle.
This would usually involve flashing his fast cars and sharing snaps of their glamorous holiday destinations.
But ever since the accident they pair have lived a much quieter and simple loves away from the cameras.
Xavi said: “We have always been very selfish and focused on ourselves, but this experience has made us empathise more with people.
“It has awakened in us the feeling of helping others. We are forever grateful for this second chance.”
The Ferrariman YouTube channel has since been deleted with only Xavi’s back up account – called Xavi Caballol – still up.
It has almost 100,000 followers and it is where he has posted several videos talking about the accident in recent months.
