These interruptions forced the characters into high-stakes encounters and could easily function as a deliberate attempt to stall the group.

It was revealed that Glorio is working for Arinsu, and the repeated issues surrounding the group’s transportation could easily be meticulously planned sabotage to keep Goku and his friends grounded. By hindering the team’s progress, Glorio is able to quietly serve Arinsu behind the scenes and turns what was once an annoying narrative tic into a clever, calculated strategy.

Despite the seemingly endless obstacles surrounding the Z-fighter’s ship, recent developments make it unlikely that the problems will persist. With Arinsu gaining a Dragon Ball and Glorio in possession of the other two, it’s unlikely that either will want to delay any further progress. There’s no longer a strategic need to slow the group down, and the story can unfold at a more natural and engaging pace.

This shift may also signify that the story is finally heading toward the immense brewing threats laid out by Arinsu. While Shin has his suspicions, the Z-fighters are largely unaware of Glorio’s betrayal or the Majin awaiting them. This sets Goku and his friends up for a fight they are not prepared for, and historically speaking, the Z-fighters never had good luck when faced with unexpected threats. All that is certain is that Dragon Ball Daima is poised to challenge Goku and his friends more than any of them expect.
