Billy Idol and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts will hit the road together this year, announcing a major trek that’ll kick off this spring and continue later this summer.

The first leg of the It’s a Nice Day to…Tour Again! Tour will get underway April 30 in Phoenix and wrap May 23 in Toronto. Idol and Jett will return to the road Aug. 16 in Philadelphia, with the tour wrapping Sept. 25 in Los Angeles. (Five dollars from every ticket sold to the final L.A. gig will be donated to the American Red Cross for wildfire relief efforts.)

Tickets for all shows will go on sale Jan. 24 at 9 a.m. local time. Artist pre-sales are set to begin Jan. 22 at 9 a.m. local time, while local pre-sales will begin Jan. 23 at 9 a.m. local time. Full info is available on Idol’s website

To announce the tour, Idol starred in a short promo clip befitting the trek’s name, “It’s a Nice Day to…Tour Again!” It begins at a coffee shop, where a barista — played by comedian Matt Rife — hands Idol a white mocha and muses, “It’s a nice day for a… white mocha” to the tune of (of course) “White Wedding.” The remark catches Idol off guard, and he soon finds himself haunted by the barista, who pops up at a restaurant and as a radio DJ, inserting Idol’s lyrics into everyday chatter until the musician is driven slowly insane.

In the final scene, Idol finds himself talking to a therapist — played by Jett — explaining how these strange occurrences feel like some sort of sign. “Perhaps it’s a nice day… to tour again,” says Jett, before she transforms into the barista.

Along with the upcoming tour, Idol is reportedly prepping a new album, which is set to arrive on Dark Horse Records later this year (full details will be announced soon). It’ll mark Idol’s first full-length album in more than a decade, with his last studio album, Kings & Queens of the Underground, arriving in 2014. However, he has released two EPs since then, including 2021’s The Roadside and 2022’s The Cage.
