Though Mystic Flour was the first beast cookie to become playable, Shadow Milk was the first to be introduced in the story. He appears in the first episode of Beast-Yeast, and two later episodes are dedicated to him. Pure Vanilla Cookie was the first ancient to appear as a playable character, released on April 8, 2021. The first legendary cookie, Sea Fairy Cookie, was released a few months later. This means that Pure Vanilla Cookie has had the most time in the spotlight and has endeared himself to most players.

Pure Vanilla Cookie is a familiar character for players who are only just coming back to the game, and he and Shadow Milk Cookie’s stories are intertwined. Not only does Pure Vanilla possess Shadow Milk’s old soul jam, but episodes 7 and 8 of Beast-Yeast are significantly more compelling than the previous ones. His voice actors have done absolutely fantastic jobs at bringing his zany persona to life – he is one of CRK’s most well-rounded antagonists, and the end of his Beast-Yeast episodes sets the stage for even more conflict and adventure.

Compared to previous updates, it’s clear A Game of Truth and Deceit has had some of the most love put into it. With several animated scenes, promotional videos, and trailers explicitly made for the beast cookies, Devsisters have really stepped up their game to provide players with content. Shadow Milk Cookie has definitely been a major focus; it is the center of previous teasers about the beast cookies and will soon be the first beast to receive a costume.

Shadow Milk Cookie even has his own plush toy, which sold out extremely quickly. If one thing’s for sure, it’s that Cookie Run: Kingdom players love Shadow Milk Cookie, and Devsisters are more than happy to deliver. The increase in content has drawn the attention of past players and those who have thought about playing the game before but never tried it.

It’s understandable that Devsisters would put in the most effort for an update around this time since it is Cookie Run: Kingdom’s fourth anniversary. However, Shadow Milk’s success is still extremely promising for the game’s future – especially the final two beast cookies, but also for the additions to the storyline that are yet to come. New characters and plotlines are constantly being introduced to the game, and Devsisters have shown time and time again that there is so much more to these characters than meets the eye.
