Over the past several years, Elektra has taken up the mantle of Daredevil in Marvel Comics – and now many fans think she’s ready to do the same on-screen, as anticipation for the character’s potential role in Marvel Studios’ Daredevil: Born Again continues to build to a fever pitch ahead of its release.

Since 2020, Matt Murdock has not been the only Daredevil in Hell’s Kitchen; Matt Murdock and Elektra Natchios have been sharing the title of Daredevil for years, and with her popularity among comic readers, it might be time for Marvel’s “Woman Without Fear” to introduced to MCU fans as well.

Elektra’s Daredevil origin in the comics even seems to be lining up with the plot of Daredevil: Born Again, suggesting there might be some weight to this popular fan theory.

When Matt Murdock Couldn’t Serve As Daredevil, Elektra Filled The Void In Hell’s Kitchen

The MCU Could Replicate This Arc

After accidentally killing a street thug, Matt Murdock was arrested for murder, but he was arrested as Daredevil, not Matt. Since superheroes are allowed to appear in court cases as witnesses, Matt’s Daredevil identity is a legal identity registered by the court, and since the crime was committed as Daredevil, he would be charged as Daredevil. The problem is that this made it public knowledge that Daredevil was no longer protecting Hell’s Kitchen, giving an open invitation to criminals. Elektra claimed that Matt was being selfish by allowing himself to be arrested, leaving no one to protect Hell’s Kitchen.

Screen Rant’s Predictions For Elektra In Daredevil: Born Again

Prognosticating The Character’s MCU Role

When Daredevil: Born Again first started production, it was going to have no connection to Netflix’s Daredevil. Since then, Marvel Studios overhauled the plan for Born Again, with the intention of continuing stories and bringing back the cast and characters from the original show. One important cast member that has still yet to be announced from the original show is Elodie Yung as Elektra Natchios, but with the rest of the cast back, there is a much higher chance of her own return. Assuming she does come back, it is certain Elektra will play a pivotal role in Daredevil’s next MCU chapter.
