1st Quarter Report

After a tough loss on the road their last time out, the Mavericks look much better today on their home court. They have jumped out to a quick 36-35 lead against the Kings. The finale is shaping up to be a lot like these teams’ last head-to-head, which was decided by just four points.

If the Mavericks keep playing like this, they’ll bump their record up to 9-4 in no time. On the other hand, the Kings will have to make due with a 7-4 record unless they turn things around.

What to Know

The Kings and the Mavericks are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but not for long. The Sacramento Kings will head out on the road to face off against the Dallas Mavericks at 7:30 p.m. ET on Sunday at American Airlines Center. The Kings are coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

Last Friday, the Kings’ game was all tied up 62-62 at the half, but luckily for them it didn’t stay that way. They walked away with a 129-120 victory over San Antonio.

The Kings’ victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was De’Aaron Fox, who scored 43 points along with 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Domantas Sabonis was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 14 rebounds.

Meanwhile, the oddsmakers set the bar high, but the Mavericks and the Bucks didn’t disappoint and broke past the 247.5 point over/under on Saturday. Dallas fell 132-125 to Milwaukee. The Mavericks have struggled against the Bucks recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.

The Mavericks’ loss shouldn’t obscure the performances of Kyrie Irving, who scored 39 points along with 6 assists, and Luka Doncic who almost dropped a triple-double on 35 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists.

Sacramento’s victory bumped their season record to 7-4 while Dallas’ defeat dropped theirs to 9-4.

The Kings are hoping to beat the odds on Sunday, as the experts think they’re headed for a loss. They might be worth a quick bet since they’ve covered the spread the last four times they’ve played.

Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Sacramento and Dallas are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. The Kings haven’t had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 115.9 points per game. However, it’s not like the Mavericks (currently ranked second in scoring) struggle in that department as they’ve been even better at 123.5 per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run up the score up higher Check CBS Sports after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other NBA content.

Odds

Dallas is a slight 1.5-point favorite against Sacramento, according to the latest NBA odds.

The oddsmakers had a good feel for the line for this one, as the game opened with the Mavericks as a 1-point favorite.

The oddsmakers are expecting fireworks from the offense and set the over/under at a high 246.5 points.
