The hotel is famous for its popular pool parties
Local police and paramedics rushed to the hotel, situated just metres from one of the world’s most famous sunsets, after the alarm was raised around 6.30pm.
Emergency responders confirmed when they arrived the holidaymaker had gone into cardiac arrest and spent around 40 minutes practising CPR on her to try to revive her.
She was declared dead at the scene after efforts to save her life proved unsuccessful.
Civil Guard officers were preparing a full report on the tragedy today to hand over to a local court which has opened an investigation.
But well-placed sources said there was nothing at this stage pointing to the death being suspicious.
Local reports pointed to the unnamed woman suffering health problems and having an implantable cardioverter defibrillator, a small battery-powered device fitted under the collarbone to monitor heart beats and treat abnormal heart rhythms using electric impulses.
The Ibiza Rocks Hotel was the scene of an earlier tragedy on Sunday when a 19-year-old Italian tourist of Turkish origin fell to her death from the fourth-floor.
She had flown to the island the previous day and gone out partying.
She is said to have tried to been trying to reach her room via a balcony from a shared area of the hotel after realising she didn’t have her key card when she lost her footing and fell.
Her lifeless body was discovered around 9am on Sunday morning.
An investigation by police into that incident is ongoing.
Meanwhile in Costa del Sol, a Brit tourist gave birth to a 10-week premature baby in a hotel garden during Spain’s massive power outage.
The newborn was in a critical condition this morning after suffering complications in the dead of night during the devastating blackouts.
A British woman in her early twenties sought help from a receptionist after her waters broke in the early hours of this morning.
The hotel worker tried to call a taxi but it was too late, so had to help the woman give birth in the garden of the hotel.
It comes after another Brit tourist was left fighting for his life after a huge brawl at a nightclub on a Greek island.
The 19-year-old was reportedly punched by a fellow Brit, 24, in the party capital of Rhodes before falling to the ground and hitting his head.
The bloody Brit fled to a health clinic in the town of Faliraki but could not remember what had happened to him.
He was immediately rushed to the General Hospital of Rhodes where he had surgery for internal bleeding on the brain.
The 19-year-old remains in a critical condition and is unable to communicate or provide a statement on the attack, according to Greek media.
The incident was reported by medics who worked with the cops to piece together what had happened.
