Jeremy Hunt will be delivering his autumn statement for 2023 today, with millions across the UK anticipating just what tax cuts and other benefit changes may be on the way.

It is expected that the Chancellor of the Exchequer’s statement will see a crackdown on benefits claimants, despite the ongoing cost of living crisis, while Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has promised taxes will be ‘cut responsibly’.

The squeeze on benefits payments nat cine as Mr Hunt decides whether to increase them by September’s inflation figure – which was 6.7% – or the October figure – which was 4.6%.

It comes a little over eight months after the Spring budget was announced on March 15, and will give an update on how those policies are going.
