His Honda sedan became completely airborne, clearing six lanes of rush-hour traffic over the Sunrise Highway – one of the busiest roads in Long Island.

Completely clearing the six lanes of traffic, the man’s car came to a stop when it hit a tree on the opposite side of the road.

He was remarkably left with only minor injuries.

Fellow motorist Brandon Hyacinthe captured the dramatic scene on his dash camera.

“It looked like a meteor going across the highway,” he said.

“At first I didn’t know it was a car.”

Thankfully, the crash didn’t involve any other vehicles and there were no injured bystanders.

Bay Shore Fire Chief John Ippolito Jr said the car was travelling well above the 30mph speed limit.

“To get the lift and to come up the embankment the way he did, there had to be a high rate of speed involved,” he told News12.

No details have been released over what caused the driver to lose control.

Charges are yet to be laid.

The driver was taken to a nearby hospital for observation.

This comes just days after a former Premier League star Abdeslam Ouaddou “cheated death” in a horror road smash.

The 46-year-old Moroccan centre-back was hit by a pickup truck on Sunday while attempting to help victims of another car accident.

Ouaddou was rushed to hospital alongside five of his staff.

Now head coach of the Orlando Pirates Football Club, Ouaddou and the staff members had been returning from a game when they pulled over to help.

The football club released a statement saying: “A Nissan NP200 vehicle collided with the stationary vehicles, striking the group and causing serious injuries”.

“Coach Ouaddou, along with five affected staff members, were immediately transported to hospital, there they are receiving medical care,” the statement continued.

“The club is in close contact with the medical team and will provide updates on their recover in due course.”
