HAMAS killers who slaughtered 1,200 people in Israel were inspired by IS terrorists, The Sun on Sunday can reveal.

A phone found on the body of a Hamas fighter after the October 7 attack contained a cache of IS material including footage of Mohammed Emwazi, dubbed Jihadi John, beheading a prisoner.

The Israel Defence Forces said the attack on Israel was “reminiscent of other Islamic jihadi groups, specifically ISIS”.

The photos and videos include a film lasting 3 minutes and 2 seconds showcasing brutal acts committed by the group after it set up a caliphate, including beheadings.

Emwazi, 27, who was killed in a drone strike in Raqqa in 2015, was the head of a terror cell nicknamed The Beatles because of their British accents.

The phone, containing at least 22 videos, was found on a dead Hamas terrorist in Mefalsim kibbutz, where 13 people were killed.

It was unscrambled by the IDF to reveal Islamic State ‘promotional videos’ shot in Iraq, Syria and Africa as well as footage taken on October 7 in Israel.

The footage shows Hamas killers wandering through a blood-soaked barracks with at least six Israeli soldiers lying dead on the floor.

An official said: “Israel suffered the worst attack on civilians in its history, experiencing the largest massacre since the establishment of the State.

“The brutality of the attack is reminiscent of the brutality of other Islamic Jihadi groups, specifically that of ISIS, who are barbaric in their display of inhumanity.

“Horrific brutality against civilians including burning, raping, parading of the wounded and dead, and taking civilians hostage are all hallmarks of ISIS.

“All of these took place during the October 7 invasion and massacre by Hamas.

“Like ISIS, Hamas is an organization of hate and a perpetrator of terror.

“Hamas, like ISIS, is a threat to Britain, the United States and the entire world.”

Following the attack on Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared: “Hamas is ISIS.”
