First RUF SCR In America Will Make Porsche 911 Owners Jealous

The flat-six is a Mezger-based design, but RUF does all its own casting work. That’s why the spec sheet will have 911 lovers foaming at the mouth.

The 4.0-liter (precisely 4,000 cc) produces 503 horsepower at 8,270 rpm and 347 lb-ft of torque at 5,760 rpm. This is an engine that wants to be worked, and luckily, the driver is right there in the mix thanks to a six-speed manual gearbox.

According to RUF, it will sprint from zero to 62 mph in 3.4 seconds and 124 mph in 11.9 seconds. Top speed is a nice, round, 200 mph. Even with all this included, the SCR weighs just 2,756 pounds, 415 lbs more than a Mazda Miata. However, the SCR gives the Miata a swift kick in the scrotum when it comes to power to weight.

If the SCR sounds like a bit too much car for you, take comfort in the fact that it’s equipped with carbon ceramic brakes. But just in case you scrape your RUF’s roof, an integrated safety cage made of high-strength lightweight steel is also standard.
