Bachelor In Paradise: Are Rachel Recchia and Blake Moynes A Couple?

Rachel Recchia and Blake Moynes didn’t date on season 9 of Bachelor In Paradise, but recent social media posts by Rachel have led to speculation that the two are dating. Rachel first appeared on Clayton Echard’s season of The Bachelor. She was such a show favorite that she was then cast as The Bachelorette, alongside Gabby Windy in the first co-lead season. Finally, she found herself on the beach, looking for love alongside Blake.

Blake first appeared on season 16 of The Bachelorette, which started off as Clare Crawley’s season. When she found love with another contestant, Dale Moss, the two got engaged and left the show, and she was replaced with Tayshia Adams. When that didn’t work out, Blake came back for The Bachelorette season 17 and won Katie Thurston’s heart. The engagement was ultimately broken before Blake appeared on this season’s Bachelor In Paradise, hoping that the third time’s the charm.

Rachel And Blake Are Not A Couple

Speculations of a romantic relationship intensified in November when Recchia posted photos to social media of herself and Moynes in Florida together. Blake is a passionate conservationist, and Rachel joined him on a trip tagging sea turtles. Though the two have definitely grown closer since leaving the beach, they have both confirmed that they are just friends and not in a romantic relationship.

How Rachel And Blake Connected

Rachel and Blake’s friendship started on the beach as they were dating other people. Rachel’s journey was complicated. She started out her season 9 journey as the first person on the beach. She initially paired off with Sean McLaughlin, who later left her for Mercedes Northup. She then moved on to Brayden Bowers, who left her for Becca Serrano, causing Rachel to self-eliminate.

Blake spent the season with Jess Girod, and things seemed to be going well for them. When Blake’s ex-fiance, former bachelorette Katie Thurston, arrived to host a Bachelor In Paradise event, Blake was forced to admit to himself that his relationship with Jess wasn’t working. Seeing Katie made him realize that he wasn’t feeling what he should be feeling for Jess at this point, so he self-eliminated and left the beach alone.

Blake Couldn’t Make It Work With Jess

The large age difference was one of the reasons that Blake, 33, and Jess, 24, couldn’t make it work as a couple on this season’s Bachelor In Paradise. Another major issue was Jess’ general ambivalence about the relationship. Jess went to the beach hoping to meet either Tanner Courtad or Tyler Norris. But when she arrived in paradise, and neither man was on the beach, she found an unexpected connection with Blake, but the connection wasn’t strong enough to keep the couple together.
