We know, it’s too easy to say “spice up your holidays.” But, it’s an appropriate phrase when you are making these cookies full of cinnamon, cloves, allspice and yumminess. We made them with dried cranberries, but raisins, chopped dates, citron, all work great, too. In one of the old cookbooks we used for inspiration, cookies similar to these were called “English Rocks,” no doubt since they were a substantial cookie and an excellent choice for a proper British tea.
These are easy enough to make just to get your house smelling like Christmas!
