A PROPHET dubbed “Greece’s Nostradamus” who predicted a war in Palestine has foreseen that escalations in the conflict will trigger World War Three.
Elder Paisios of Mount Athos made a number of predictions throughout his life – including turmoil in the Middle East.
The Elder Paisios was proclaimed a Saint in 2015

One of the most beloved Saints in the Orthodox Church, Paisios is said to have correctly predicted the war in Ukraine as well as the bloodshed in Gaza.
Since the October 7 massacre and as the war in Gaza continues, his prophecies circulate on Greek media as his followers are convinced he was gifted and his predictions were right.
He is quoted as saying: “Palestine will become a battlefield, the Dead Sea will become a grave.
“This will be the first half, but there will be a second half.”
Saint Paisios also indicated that the world will be on the brink of a Third World War triggered by escalation in the Middle East.
“The Middle East will become a field of wars, in which the Russians will also take part.
“A great war will break between the Russians and the Europeans in Istanbul and much blood will be shed,” he said.
Born as Arsenios Eznepidis, in Pharasa, Cappadocia in 1924, he fled to Greece with his family as refugees following the population exchange between Turkey and Greece.
He became a monk in Mount Athos (Holy Mountain) in northeastern Greece in 1949.
He would remain for a long period of his life adopting an ascetic lifestyle – except for a short break during which he went to Mount Sinai.
Mount Athos is an important part of the Orthodox faith with even Russian warmonger Putin visiting in 2016.
Similarly to the French astrologer Nostradamus, Saint Paisios made several prophecies throughout his life – including a future war between Russia and Turkey that would lead Greece to expand its borders.
Other prophecies include the dissolution of the European Union by the UK and the US – “It won’t last for many years, it will be destroyed by the Brits and Americans, because they are one nation and work
together.”
Despite many of his predictions being far-fetched and usually appearing to benefit Greece, his gentle manners and unique ability to console people made him particularly popular.
Following a cancer battle which he considered a fulfillment of his request to God, he passed away in 1994 at the age of 69.
While he was a beloved Christian figure during his life, he became more popular after his death, particularly in Greece, Cyprus and Russia.
He was proclaimed a Saint of the Orthodox Church in 2015.
Every year on July 12, thousands of believers flock to his grave to commemorate him.
