AT LEAST three children have been injured in a horror primary school shooting in Finland.

Cops urged local residents this morning not to open their doors to strangers following the horror attack.

Bystanders have also been asked to keep away from the area and stay indoors.

A warning from cops read: “Bystanders are asked to stay away from the area and indoors. Do not open the door to strangers.”

Viertola school in Vantaa is just outside the capital Helsinki and is home to around 800 students.

Almost 100 members of staff also work there.

Police rushed to the school in Vantaa around 7am UK time after the chaos broke out.

They have since arrested a suspect who is being held in custody and are investigating the horror attack.

Local city official Katri Kalske said a crisis team had been called in response to the shooting.

A large police presence remains around the building, Eyewitness news reports.

And a witness told broadcaster YLE that two ambulances had left the scene.
