A PSYCHO “crucified” his ex by nailing her to a wooden plank and setting her on fire before a brave act saved her life.

Recruitment manager Oksana Kuzmenko, 40, was subjected to the horrible ordeal after she ended her relationship with her welder boyfriend Oleg Shchegolikhin, 32, it is alleged.

Ex-lover Oleg poured petrol over her and set her on fire in the car repair workshop where he worked.

But he then doused the flames, according to evidence in the case in Russian city Yekaterinburg.

Oleg ordered her to drive him to the city of Asbest amid suspicions he would kill her and hide her corpse en route in a forest.

However, Oksana took the incredibly brave decision to deliberately crash the car into another vehicle – an act which may have saved  her life.

Her ex-lover fled the car and escaped as police arrived.

Traumatised Oksana told police about the attack on her which followed an hour-long beating by Shchegolikhin, she alleged.

The police found her in a “terrible condition”.

She was diagnosed with severe burns to the upper limbs, upper respiratory tract, neck, face , and buttocks.

Oksana also had wounds from the nails in her limbs and was left in intensive care in a “grave” condition.

Shchegolikhin was later detained by police and is now in custody.

A criminal case has been opened into attempted murder.

Friends say Shchegolikhin had hidden from her his past as a convict with previous sentences for hijacking, theft, battery, and drunk driving.

He then forced her to transfer cash to his former jail friends, it is alleged.
