Dakota Johnson Paired Her Sheer Dress With Unexpected Undergarments

Dakota Johnson is no stranger to the sheer dress trend. In fact, it’s practically her red carpet signature at this point. If it’s gauzy or beaded or constructed with a navel-grazing V-neck line, it’s probably a “yes” from Johnson. (Bonus points if it’s all three, and by Gucci.)

So when she stepped out to attend the Gucci spring-summer 2025 show at Milan Fashion Week on September 20, it was not at all surprising to see the 34-year-old in yet another embellished, sheer gown from her fashion house of choice. However, rather than layer the delicate white slip over a pair of nude undergarments, she opted for a stark white pair of briefs and a matching white bandeau top.

Something about the high contrast between Johnson’s skin tone and the briefs, plus the shorter length of the dress—hitting just above the ankles—gave the look a more casual, intimate feel. As though we’d stumbled upon the actor in her nightgown. (In my head, all rich and famous people have luxurious evening routines, and equally luxurious bedclothes.)
