A man was knocked to the ground with a stool to the face after spraying punters with a fire extinguisher at a Manchester pub.

Getting doused with a foam is the last thing you expect while out for Sunday evening pint.

But one group had their quiet drink disturbed by a man spraying the room with a fire extinguisher before they got instant revenge.

There was no sign of smoke or flames in CCTV footage from The Black Boy pub in Wythenshawe on September 29.

Still a man was seen lugging a red fire extinguisher through the room as its hose wriggled through the air from the force of its contents coming out.

He then walked towards a group sat with pints beneath a John Lennon portrait in the corner of Chelsea footballer Cole Palmer’s local.

As soon as he’d grabbed ahold of the nozzle and aimed it towards them, one of the group had leapt to his feet and hurled a stool towards him.

It hit the man right in the face, knocking him straight to the floor.

‘That was a bit over the top’, one person commented on social media, ‘he was just giving the fella some beer head.’

Another joked: ‘Now he has wooden teeth.’

Richard added: ‘He won’t do that again will he?’

Over within seconds, one of the trio had barely had a chance to look at the events unfolding, let alone move from his seat.

It came just after Manchester United lost 3-0 at home to Tottenham in the Premier League.

Cole Palmer, who played with rivals Manchester City until last year, grew up in the area of The Black Boy.

It was the scene of wild celebrations when he scored for England in their 2-1 Euro 2024 final defeat to Spain in July.
