EMOTIONAL tributes are flooding in for the “sweet” child who was killed in a horrific accident at a special needs school.
Sanad Shahriar, 10, tragically died after being crushed by a lift at the Sydney school on Wednesday.

Emergency services raced to St Lucy’s school in Wahroonga at around 2pm on November 1 after receiving a report about the trapped child.
Firefighters on the ground were unable to rescue the boy and he died at the scene.
Sanad Shahriar was the only child of Hasan Shahriar, a Sydney engineering manager, and Dr Yasmin Haque, a GP.
Friends of Sanad’s parents said the grief-stricken pair were currently “very vulnerable” and surrounded by family, The Mail reports.
On Thursday, distraught relatives gathered at the family’s home and were pictured in tears on the driveway.
Outside the school, mourners had left flowers and hand-written tributes were left in piles.
One note read: “Rest in peace sweet boy”.
Tributes were posted on the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) alumni Facebook group, where the child’s father was a member.
“With an extremely heavy heart, I am announcing the passing of the only son of our BUETian brother Hasan Shahriar in an incident at the school yesterday.
“Please pray for the sweet little Sanad and Hasan Shahriar and Dr Yasmin.”
As the tragedy unfolded on Wednesday, the school informed the parents that there had been a “medical emergency” and that the school was under lockdown.
Later, they wrote in a statement: “St Lucy’s School is very sad to confirm the tragic death of one of our students this afternoon.
“We are cooperating with the investigating police and are not able to make any further statement today.
“The school will be closed to students until further notice.
“We ask for privacy and space for our staff and families to grieve at this difficult time as we remember our beautiful student.”
New South Wales police are currently investigating whether the lift was faulty.
They reportedly believe it may have malfunctioned and allowed the doors to open before it was ready to be operated.
However, the exact circumstances of the boy’s death are still unclear.
The school was said to be raising money to upgrade the building where the child was killed with new facilities.
St Lucy’s is a private Catholic Dominican School focusing on kids with distinguished disabilities.
It started as a primary school before expanding its operations to include secondary education for the students in 2019.
Currently, the institution caters to around 230 students from kindergarten to year 12.
