‘My daughter was raped unconscious and killed on park bench by depraved monster’

The mother of a woman who died after being raped while unconscious on a park bench has said there is “no forgiveness afforded” for the “depraved, deviant monster” who attacked her daughter.

Dr Cas Shotter Weetman had to watch horrendous CCTV in court during the trial of Mohamed Noor Iidow who repeatedly sexually assaulted her 37-year-old daughter Natalie Shotter while she was passed out in Southall Park, west London, after a night out.

Sick convicted sex offender Iidow was convicted on Friday (Oct 18) of manslaughter and rape after putting Ms Shotter’s family through the month-long ordeal of a trial at the Old Bailey having denied the charges against him.

He will be sentenced on December 13.

The body of mum-of-three Natalie Shotter, who was a little over 5ft tall and weighed just over six and a half stone, was found by a member of the public on a bench in Southall Park on Friday, 16 July 2021.

Speaking to the Mail Online Dr Shotter Weetman said she would never speak the name of the vile man who had attacked her daughter.

She told the paper: “We got the justice that Nat deserved. But he had no remorse whatsoever.

“I never want to speak his name. I will refer to him as the “despicable deviant monster” because that’s what he is. He made his presence known in a purposeful, premeditated and perpetual manner.

“He acted like a predator. He is a very dangerous man. A depraved, deviant monster and there is no forgiveness afforded.

“I’ll never say his name… but need to say her name and talk about Nat and what she meant to people. That should be the legacy.”

Dr Shotter Weetman said NHS worker Natalie was a talented former drama student and devoted mother to her three children, the youngest of which was aged just 21 months at the time of the attack.

Speaking after the court case Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley, from the Met Police Specialist Crime South who led the investigation, said Iidow’s predatory attack on Natalie was “disturbing and shocking”.

He said: “This man drove to the park that night and took advantage of a vulnerable woman who should have been safe. Even after his arrest, Iidow attempted to claim that his actions were consensual.

“This case has deeply affected those involved, due to its rarity and tragic details.

“We needed to prove Natalie’s death was caused by being raped and that involved diligent work using experts in this field to charge and now convict Iidow.

“I commend the strength of Natalie’s friends and family who have had to listen to these details throughout the trial. Iidow is now facing a long term of imprisonment.”
