But instead of touching down, it crashes into a small, white stationary plane and jolts while its rotor blades are still rapidly rotating.
The rotor blades of the crashing chopper continue to smash into the other aircraft.
Eventually, the sound of the Robinson stops and it slows down and the rotation is finally put to a halt.
Three men dressed in black suddenly emerge from the helicopter garage to check on the pilot.
The pilot walks away from the scene visibly unharmed, the only one aboard the chopper which crashed at Pearland Regional Airport at 9.30am on Sunday.
Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office reports that emergency services were called to the scene but doctors confirmed no medical attention was needed.
There is an ongoing investigation into what caused the crash, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
This comes after a plane narrowly missed a shocked golfer after crashing onto a course in August.
The stunned player was lining up a shot when the plane dramatically careered past him and slammed into a pro shop.
Footage showed golfer Justin Owens about to stroke a putt on the practice green in Sacramento, California, as the aircraft headed towards him.
Seeing it at the last moment, Justin quickly jumped to the side, avoiding injury by a few inches and the plane skidded across the green and hit the wall of the nearby pro shop.
Plumes of smoke were seen billowing from the small blue and white Piper PA28 plane, as the traumatised golfer watched on in horror.
The light plane’s wing was seen flapping in the air but it appeared relatively intact following the crash landing.
Footage of the aftermath of the accident on Sunday afternoon showed rescuers inspecting the plane’s damage, and paint scuffs on the walls of the pro shop.
A clip taken from another angle showed people casually strolling in a busy car park as the crash took place right in front of them.
Rescuers from the local fire team rushed to the scene at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex shortly after 1pm.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) revealed that the only person on board was the pilot.
