The Mercedes-AMG ONE may claim to be the first F1 car for the road, but the 1997 Ferrari F50 has an F1-derived engine too. Its 4.7-liter naturally aspirated V12 produces 513 horsepower and 347 lb-ft of torque, all of which goes to the rear wheels through an open-gated six-speed manual shifter. In addition, the engine and gearbox are stressed members, contributing to sublime handling.
0-60 mph takes around 3.7 seconds, and the top speed is just above 202 mph, but with more weight than the Ferrari F40, this supercar was not fully appreciated in its day. Now that the naturally aspirated V12 is becoming scarce and the manual transmission is all but dead, Ferrari fans are starting to warm to the Nineties supercar. And with just 349 examples made, the F50 is rarer than the F40, the Enzo, and the LaFerrari.
