At the time of his disappearance, his crypto investment scheme on Telegram called Crypto Paradise Island was under investigation by authorities, according to CBC.
His body was found last month at the Île-de-la-Visitation nature park, in Montreal.
Mirshahi was kidnapped after a night out with another two women and a man on the night of June 21, in the parking lot of a building in Montreal.
The other three friends were later found near a bus stop in the city’s west end.
A major police operation was launched to find the missing influencer.
Two months later, Joanie Lepage, 32, was charged with first-degree murder of Mirshahi.
The grim discovery of the body was made by the park’s employees on October 30.
The influencer’s body was covered and had his hands and feet tied, the Le Journal de Montréal reported.
Authorities confirmed the body belonged to the 25-year-old cryptocurrency boss following an autopsy.
Police also found a burned-out SUV that is believed to have been used to transport the victims.
With the help of the victims’ testimony, cops were able to locate a home in Les Cèdres, where the alleged killing is believed to have taken place.
The influencer’s company was being investigated since 2021 by Quebec’s investment regulator, the Autorité des marchés financiers. (AMF)
He had been placed under a “ban on carrying out any activity as a broker or investment adviser, a ban on securities transactions and orders for the withdrawal of publications on social media and the withdrawal of the name of the AMF.”
