Khalid is clearing the air after his ex-boyfriend Hugo Almonte made claims about their past relationship and seemingly outed him publicly.

“I just wanted to come on here and address some things so we can just leave this all in the past,” Khalid, 26, said in a video shared via X on Monday, November 25. “I know I don’t have to. But I feel like it’s important that I speak my side of the situation.”

The singer — who confirmed his sexuality earlier this month — said he wanted to speak to Almonte’s claims that he does drugs, pays for sex and was abusive when they dated.

“I’ve never done cocaine a day in my life,” Khalid told his followers, referring to Almonte writing in a since-deleted social media post on Friday, November 22, that “one of your favorite gay R&B singers” (seemingly referencing Khalid) served him pink cocaine. (Pink cocaine is a party drug that is typically a mix of methamphetamine, ketamine, MDMA and other drugs that causes hallucinations.)

Singer-songwriter Khalid is opening up about his sexuality — after saying he was outed by someone else. The “Location” singer (full name Khalid Donnel Robinson) shared a rainbow flag emoji via X on Friday, November 22, writing, “there yall go. next topic please lol.” When someone responded with, “Wait hope Mr Khalid isn’t GEHHH!” the […]

Khalid (full name Khalid Donnel Robinson) continued, “I don’t place myself in those scenarios. I’m not in those surroundings. I smoke weed. And I drink a little bit. But, I’ve never done cocaine a day in my life. For real.”

Khalid then addressed the “escorting” claims that have surfaced, alleging, “I’ve never paid for sex a day in my life. Ever. I’ve never paid anyone to date me. I’ve never paid anybody to be in a relationship with me.”

The “Location” singer further denied Almonte’s claim that Khalid accused him of breaking into his home. In a since-deleted tweet, Almonte shared a selfie with Khalid, captioning it, “Bitch ass lied and said that I broke into his house cause I didn’t want him.”

“I’ve never accused anybody publicly of breaking into my house,” Khalid said in response. “The only people who even know about a break in are my close circle.”

Partway through the video, Khalid revealed that he dated Almonte “four to five years ago” so he was surprised by the recent statements about their time together.

“The last time that I talked to this guy was four years ago. This is all random. I don’t know why he did it. I don’t know what’s going on with him,” Khalid said. “Mental health is real. I haven’t even had a conversation or seen this dude in four years.”

When it came to discussing Almonte’s allegations that Khalid might be an “abuser,” the musician became visibly upset.

“It’s just a little triggering seeing the few comments — not that it’s this running narrative or anything like that — but it’s triggering seeing the few comments of people painting me as if I’m just some manipulative abuser,” he explained. “It’s just crazy. Regarding the stories of the abuse. It’s triggering.”

Khalid claimed, “It’s triggering because it’s the other way around, and that’s what hurts.” He noted that he’s not saying he’s the “best guy in the world” but these defaming statements are “frustrating” to see.

“I’m not gonna run around like I’m unbothered,” he continued. “I never said I was unbothered by anything. This is very bothering.”

Khalid concluded by telling his fans that any new music that is set to come out was “supposed to happen before all of this.” He insisted, “I’m OK with where I’m at.”

He added, “I don’t need a publicity stunt for attention. It’s not my vibe.”
