Visitors at the resort in Whinfell Forest, Cumbria, claimed staff were ‘running about panicking’.
The alarm can be heard blaring in one video posted to social media.

The witness who shared the clip on X said: ‘Currently a full evacuation taking place at CenterParcsUK Whinfell Forest due to a ‘security incident’. Staff running about panicking.
‘Shortly before an evacuation message was played over the speakers, all the electricity went out and the emergency lighting turned on. Staff then rushed everyone out of the building.
‘A staff member has told me “it is not a fire” but “a security incident”.’
A Center Parcs spokesperson said: ‘We understand that there was a very short power outage that affected the local area around Penrith, this evening.’
