Spotify Wrapped 2024: Who tops the Global, US and UK lists?

Spotify Wrapped is finally here, with the streaming giant’s annual feature revealing the listening habits of music lovers from the past 12 months.  

These include the Global and UK lists for Most-Streamed Artists, Most-Streamed Song, Most-Streamed Album, Top Podcasts, and Top Audiobooks and Authors.  

Let’s dive straight in, and to no one’s surprise, Taylor Swift comes in at Number One on the Global, US and UK Top Artists lists.  

Her 11th studio record ‘The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology’ tops the Most-Streamed Globally list, followed by Billie Eilish’s ‘HIT ME HARD AND SOFT’ and ‘Short N’ Sweet’ by Sabrina Carpenter.  

Swift’s ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ came in at Number Six on the Global list, Number 10 on US and Number Five on UK, while her 2019 album ‘Lover’ made both Global and UK charts (at Number 8 and 9 respectively). 

Both Global and UK versions also feature artists like The Weeknd, Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, Kanye West and surprisingly, Drake – especially considering the annus horribilis he’s had. Still, streams are streams. Won rap battles and brilliant new albums are forever. And Kendrick Lamar does feature heavily on the US lists, with his hit diss track ‘Not Like Us’ coming in at Number 2 on the US Most-Streamed Songs list.

Globally, Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Espresso’ was named the most-streamed track on Spotify in 2024. ‘Beautiful Things’ by Benson Boone and ‘BIRDS OF A FEATHER’ by Billie Eilish make up the Top 3.  

Spotify has also shared the chart for its Most Viral Songs Globally.

Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga’s duet ‘Die With A Smile’ tops the list, with Billie Eilish (‘BIRDS OF A FEATHER’), Benson Boone (‘Beautiful Things’), Teddy Swims (‘Lose Control’) and Chappell Roan (Good Luck, Babe!’) completing the Top 5.
