No, you are not seeing double … or triple. Many Billboard chart toppers have their very own personal clone in the form of wax, thanks to  Madame Tussauds Wax Museum.

Founded in London, the museum — a popular tourist attraction — began in the 1800s and its flagship location was fully fleshed out by 1924. In 1999, North America got its first Madame Tussauds museum in Las Vegas. New York followed in 2000, Washington, D.C., in 2007 and Hollywood in 2009. Within the past 10 years, Orlando, Nashville and San Francisco have also received Madame Tussauds locations, in addition to global locations in Beijing, Singapore and Dubai.

In the time since its inception, Madame Tussauds has become a staple of pop culture, and a mark of recognition for celebrities, musicians and politicians alike. Late greats who have a wax counterpart at Madame Tussauds include Freddie Mercury, Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie and Michael Jackson, but plenty of today’s stars have earned wax replicas as well.

Recent additions to Madame Tussauds include Missy Elliott, Lil Nas X, Drake and Lizzo — who said seeing her figure for the first time was “single-handedly one of the most terrifyingly meta moments of my life,” and joked, “Now I know what a twosome with Lizzo is like” after sharing a series of hilarious photos and TikTok videos with her waxy doppelgänger.

See all the musicians that have been immortalized in wax by Madame Tussauds.
