Why the Suns can cover

Forward Kevin Durant is one of the most pure and efficient scorers in the NBA. Durant handles the rock and can score from anywhere on the floor with ease. The 13-time All-Star averaged 29.1 points, 6.7 rebounds, and five assists per game during the 2022-23 campaign. He also shot 40% from downtown on five 3-point attempts per game. The Texas product dropped 30-plus points in four of his 11 postseason games last season.

Guard Devin Booker is a fantastic offensive weapon. Booker plays at a calming pace with a sweet shooting stroke from all three levels on the floor. The 26-year-old has also scans the court well as a passer, and last season Booker averaged 27.8 points and 5.5 assists per game. Booker has amassed 32-plus points in two of his past three games against the Warriors. See which team to back at SportsLine.

Why the Warriors can cover

Guard Stephen Curry continues to be dominant on the court as he enters his 15th season. Curry has unbelievable shooting range with the court vision to excel as a facilitator. The nine-time All-Star averaged 29.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and shot 42% from beyond the arc last year. On Oct. 18 against the Sacramento Kings in a preseason outing, Curry finished with 30 points, five assists, and went 8 of 12 from three.

Forward Andrew Wiggins provides Golden State with an athletic and lengthy presence in the frontcourt. Wiggins is consistently cutting to the rim but owns the jumper to space the floor. The 28-year-old has logged 18 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game across four seasons in Golden State. He’s scored at least 20 points in 12 of the 37 regular season games he played in 2022-23. See which team to back at SportsLine.
