Toyota Reveals Radical FT-3e And FT-Se EV Concepts In Tokyo

The angular FT-3e is unlike any current Toyota SUV. Featuring modern exterior lighting, powerful fenders, and a steeply-raked windshield, it’s the kind of vehicle that would intrigue customers based on its appearance alone. Not content with interior digital interfaces, the FT-3e even has external digital displays from the lower side body to the upper door. These display information like the onboard temperature, battery charge, and interior air quality as the driver approaches. It certainly lives up to the Toyota booth where the SUV is displayed, with the theme “Let’s Change the Future of Cars – Find Your Future.”

Toyota says the FT-3e “will enrich customers’ daily lives with new driving experiences and personalized services powered by innovative technologies.”

Inside, the FT-3e features a digital interface that wraps around the steering wheel, along with a second central display. Higher up on the dashboard, there are another two displays linked to rearview cameras, replacing traditional rearview mirrors. In total, there appear to be at least seven separate displays inside the FT-3e.
