In order to beat Cliff in Pokémon GO during November 2023, you will be required to choose a lineup of solid counters, as his chosen Pokémon tend to hit hard. One of the three Leaders of the Team GO Rocket organization, Cliff, is above your ordinary thug and instead brings forth quite a challenge. He does not specialize in any Pokémon type but has his lineup change every few months. Because of this, you will need to be updated on his party if you want to beat him.

Like all other Team GO Rocket Leaders, Cliff saw a change in his lineup in late October. Unlike Sierra’s, however, it was not a significant change, as only one Pokémon in his lineup was changed. As such, those who were prepared to face Cliff in Pokémon GO during October 2023 are largely ready to face him again in November, though a minor adjustment may be necessary to beat his new featured creature.

Best Counters For Cliff’s In Pokémon GO (November 2023)

The most significant change in Cliff’s lineup in November 2023 is that he switched his Aerodactyl for a Dratini in Pokémon GO. Because his first creature is fixed during a period, this is the Pokémon you will first face when challenging Cliff in the upcoming months. To beat Dratini, it is best if you use an Ice- or Fairy-type Pokémon. Dragon-types can also cause a lot of damage, but they are weak against Dratini’s own Dragon-type, so it can be a risky decision to take.

Things start getting complicated during his second wave, as they can be one of three Pokémon with distinct weaknesses. They are Slowking, Cradily, and Gallade. For Slowking, a Ghost- or Dark-type is best (or perhaps even an Electric-type), while Cradily is weak against Fighting-, Ice- and Steel-type moves. Gallade should be faced with a Ghost- or Fairy-type Pokémon. Because two of three possible options in wave 2 are weak against Ghost-types, a creature like Chandelure in Pokémon GO is the best creature to choose in an initial attempt.

While your initial choices may be ineffective, with Cliff choosing another Pokémon, the best strategy is to cover as much ground as possible.

Cliff’s third Pokémon can also be one of three options. His final slot lineup consists of Tyranitar, Mamoswine, or Dusknoir. While Tyranitar and Mamoswine share a common weakness against Fighting-type moves, Dusknoir is immune to it, making it a complicated choice. If he uses his Ghost-type Pokémon, the best option is to use a Dark-type creature, as they would be strong against Dusknoir. Another Hydreigon or a Tyranitar works against it. The table below lists all of Cliff’s possible Pokémon GO choices in November and the best counters for each:
