At least six people, including children, were injured after a firework began exploding into a crowd in England.
Around 3,000 people gathered at the Stone SP Cricket Club field in Staffordshire, roughly 60 miles south of Manchester, to watch the fireworks show when the explosives veered off course, according to Strokes Sentinel.
Michael Jones, who was at the event, told the outlet a firework whizzed by his family, hitting the one next to him. The explosive nearly hit his child, whose coat was singed.
“It hit the family standing right beside us. We felt the heat as it came into us,” he told Strokes Sentinel.
Another woman, Roxanne Martindale said she had to “throw” her daughter out of the way as a firework came barreling toward them.

“It came right at myself, my two children and my other half,” she wrote on social media, according to the outlet.
Witnesses said the announcement came on afterward, saying six had been hit and asking for medical workers.

Another attendee, Harriet Shepherd, said she and her family left because there “all scared.”
What caused the fireworks to veer off course is unclear.
