Season one of Heartstopper was a smashing success. It became one of Netflix’s highest-rated high school dramas of all time with 100% RottenTomatoes. You know that’s something. It also got ranked at #150 on the IMDb top list. The series achieved both critical acclaim and widespread recognition. Thanks to all of that, Netflix has renewed Heartstopper for second and third seasons.

Alice Oseman’s heartwarming story coupled with authentic representation of LGBTQ+ in a highschool setting has captured the hearts of viewers across all demographics. So much so that Netflix has made an unprecedented decision of ordering two additional seasons. Season two is likely to premiere on Netflix in August. The show will have Alice Oseman as a creator and an executive producer.

Netflix took to Twitter to declare the renewal, tweeting “To those who have fallen in love with Nick & Charlie, cried watching Alice Oseman’s magical story brought to life, or felt represented for the first time on-screen, I am elated to announce…

Heartstopper has been renewed for TWO MORE SEASONS!”
